My Lip Filler Experience

Firstly I am excited about my return to blogging and would like to thank all my loyal readers and followers for all their support for the last year! I graduated university, changed jobs twice and moved in with my partner, it's been a busy year but I'm back and ready!
Lip fillers have been the latest "lunch time procedure" women all over the world have been getting since Kylie Jenner debuted her new lips a couple years back. After months and months of contemplating I finally caved in. I want to be clear that my intention was to not follow a trend or mirror a celebrity, my decision was solely based on making my myself feel better and resolving my insecurity. My lips weren't very small but nevertheless they weren't overly full neither, the left top side of my lips was slightly lower than the right and although it was possible never noticeable to others it certainly wasn't easy for me to miss!
I did my research on the procedure at first it seemed confusing with all the different filler brands there was out there and I wasn't 100% sure on what one was the best but after watching a few YouTubers and reading some blogs I noticed that Juvederm was mentioned time and time again and I later discovered it was what Kylie Jenner used for her first batch of lip filler injections. Later going on social media I accidentally clicked on a link suggested to me as a mutual friend had liked the page. It was a beauty salon based in Newbury Park called Opulent Beauty they do everything from facials, lip fillers, Botox, anti ageing  treatments and eyelash extensions. After sifting my way through a various number of outstanding reviews I decided to reach out and take the plunge. Before even considering making a appointment Olivia from Opulent Beauty was exceptionally helpful and patient she talked me through how the procedure is actually carried out and gave me full details on all the filler brands and listed the benefits. This was so refreshing as these brands were always mentioned everywhere but I never understood the difference.
So I booked my appointment a month in advance as I really wanted to speak to my partner and family about what I was considering on doing and really think through if I really deep down wanted to go through with it. I can't stress enough especially to young girls, please really give yourself time to think through these kinds of decisions and really take a good long look at yourself and know 100% you are doing this for you and your happiness! Also please please do your research there are many products out their some legit and some deadly, usually if it sounds too good to be true it usually is! Don't try and save as much money as possible as you pay for what you get!
So a month passed and I still wanted to go through with it. My partner came with me and we travelled to Newbury Park which to be fair was only a 20 minute journey, I arrived at Opulent Beauty and instantly the first thing I noticed was it's incredibly gold crushed rock wall, everything looked so classy and elegant I instantly felt I was in the right place. As soon as we arrived we received such a warm welcome and was seated immediately and served coffee. Before I was scheduled to go in myself and Olivia once again spoke more in depth about what brand to use and we agreed on Juvederm as it being my first time experiencing lip filler injections she felt it would be less painful. For the results I desired I was recommended to go for a 1mil of Juvederm filler, Olivia applied the numbing cream to my lips which instantly began to take effect. The only way I can describe it was it felt as if my lips had pins and needles, after 30 minutes I was then taken into the treatment room where I met the trained and qualified consultant April who would be doing my lips. She was so welcoming and friendly and before we even decided to go ahead she seemed very sincere in ensuring I felt safe, assured and positive about the whole thing. So we finally began the procedure and I was absolutely terrified as I am scared of needles, I had my eyes shut the whole time.
April was amazing as every move she made she told me what she was doing and why and also what to expect. The pain on a scale of 1 to 10 was a 4 it felt like someone was sharply pinching my lips only for 3 seconds and after a minute or two it became very tolerable. Every time April had to inject a different section of my lip she gave me words of encouragement and made me feel assured. The only time I can say I really felt a little pain was when the top centre of lip just below my Cupid's bow was injected it was incredibly sharp however very quick! It was a little eye watering at times but not as much as I thought, I was very surprised that the whole thing took only 10 minutes!
When I looked in the mirror I could of cried! They were better than I could have ever imagined both sides of my lip were aligned and full! I felt so happy and confident I literally hugged her. April then sat me down and went through all the after care I would have to undertake to avoid any risk of infection and to excel the results. I was given aloe vera gel to sanitise and soothe my lips which I would have to do twice a day (morning and night) to avoid overload of information Olivia gave me all the information on paper to take home and gave me her number incase I was concerned about any side effects.
I was informed that the next day my lips would swell but would settle down the following morning and to excel the results of my filler I should massage my lips twice a day and avoid wearing lipstick or lipgloss for approximately three days. Before I went in for the injections I had to complete a healthcare form and because I ticked the box which asks if you bruise easy Olivia also provided me with some information to take home on bruising and aftercare on bruising on the lips.
I am so happy with the results I cannot possibly put it into words! I want to thank Olivia and April at Opulent Beauty for being so helpful and understanding, I felt so cared for and well looked after I couldn't of expected a better service. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for lip enhancements to visit Opulent Beauty and follow their Facebook page where you can message them directly and gain free and helpful advice especially if it's your first time! If you are thinking on going through with any procedure please ensure you have done all your research and are doing it for the right reasons also I must stress how crucial it is to go to a legitimate place such as Opulent Beauty as there are many places out there that are not qualified or trained professionally.
I will be documenting the healing process of my lips in my next post!!!

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment

So as of late, I have been trying out a few night treatment products to help with my post acne scarring. The skin does most of its crucial repairing while we sleep so a night treatment will work with our skin to speed up the healing process and create better results.

I have been trying out the clarifying seaweed night treatment by The Body Shop for roughly 5-6 weeks. I have been pretty pleased with the results so far so I thought I would do a review on it and share my thoughts on this product with my readers.

First off I would like to point out that seaweed is full of vitamins and minerals that carry many health benefits as well as beauty benefits. Some research has highly supported that seaweed can eliminate acne or at least improve the condition for example, making breakouts occur less often.

To start off with I didn't really notice any difference for a few days whilst using the night treatment. However, after a week I began to notice it was aiding my acne scarring as well as working efficiently along with my tea tree cleanser to eliminate any small breakouts. My skin can become oily around my forehead and nose area from time to time, especially during the summer! The great thing about this product is it controls excess oils that the skin produces, so if you have oily skin this will work great at diminishing that excess oil and giving the skin a somewhat matified finish without dehydrating the skin. Too much excess oil can cause and pro long acne breakouts that's why this night treatment plays a vital role in producing clearer skin.

Once a couple weeks had past my nose and forehead area didn't have anymore oily patches, and my complexion looked healthier. The seaweed night treatment serum has a water like texture and glides on easily , it's lightweight formular means it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. You only need a small quantity of the product (one pump) to cover your whole face which is great as this means the product will last longer and you won't have to keep re purchasing it on a regular basis. The best way to apply the night treatment is after you have completed cleansing and toning then apply evenly in upward motions onto the face, the serum asorbs pretty quickly into the skin. There is no harsh fragrences or chemicals added so this serum is suitable for those with sensitive skin that is easily irritated.

The packaging was another bonus that made me like this product even more than I already did. The serum comes packaged in a pump, whilst being dispensed from the pump you can actually see how much product you are extracting and how much you have left. I hate having a tube or bottle of product and never knowing how much I have left until I go to use it on day and there is nothing left....at all! In addition the pump also allows you to control how much product you use as well as being hygieneic; preventing any bacteria on our hands contaminating the serum.

To conclude this review, I have been happy with the seaweed clarifying night treatment so far and will update you guys on any new changes it may have on my skin. Overall this is yet another effective product by The Body Shop!

No.7 Early Defense Eye Cream!

It’s never too early to start preventing the aging process, especially around the eye area which is the most sensitive part of our face. Dehydration, stress, irritation, rubbing and pollution all participate in the premature aging process. Eye creams are not only fit for anti aging purposes but also handy to have when brightening the eye area and eliminating dark circles.

As I am now 21 I did feel it was important to start treating my eyes now as it would benefit me in the long run. I did hear of a somewhat new product line by No.7 which was the Early Defence skincare line, the eye cream seemed promising so I thought I would try it out as it is targeted for people around my age group and beyond.  I have been using the early defence eye cream for roughly two months now, so I think it is deserving of a blog review!

The early defence eye cream is a stepping stone” to assist the transition from daily skincare to proactively delaying the signs of ageing. Starting this process in your 20’s is highly recommended as this is the time when the skin is considered to be at its best. The patent pending protection technology that the early defence cream is made from puts your skin in a somewhat “slow motion state” delaying ageing and damage.  No7’s unbeatable UVA technology gives the skin advanced protection from the sun and environmental stress.  Just after a week of using this product every morning and evening, I started to notice the dark circles were eliminating from around my eyes. The cream also was perfect for decreasing that puffy eye look some of us get first thing in the morning. The eye cream also worked surprisingly great as a base/primer for eye conealer it actually prevented my under eye concealer from creasing! I was starting to already see the benefits after just 1 week as the weeks progressed my eye area looked increasingly brighter, healthier with no signs of fatigue due to its high light reflecting properties and absence of harsh chemicals. I found that using the early defence eye cream twice a day (morning and evening) does help speed up results. The skin does most of its repairing while we sleep so using the cream of an evening before you go to bed would be highly recommended.

Its creamy lightweight formula is easy to apply and blend without having to harshly rub into the skin. The early defence eye cream is also packaged quite well with a small nozzle which is hygienic as it prevents the cream from being contaminated by the bacteria on our hands and fingers. Another helpful benefit from the packaging is due to its small nozzle you can control the amount of product you use, a little goes a long way with this eye cream its highly effective formula means that it doesn’t require you to use a lot of product.

Overall I have been more than satisfied with the No.7 early defence eye cream and highly recommend to men and women in their 20’s who are looking to keep their young skin looking younger for a longer period of time.  For a reasonable price and made by a well known and unbeatable company like No.7 you just can’t go wrong with this product!

My Top 5 Best Drugstore Highlighters!

Personally I couldn't live without highlighting! And recently "strobing" has become a new makeup trend which consists of highlighting the high and main points of your face ( cheekbones, brow bone, nose) without contouring. Highlighting makes these features stand out which I think is great but I don't think I will ever stop contouring the hollows of my cheeks! But I like the idea that a makeup trend is about making your features stand out and not trying to hide them.

I think a generous dash of highlighter also completes a fresh faced makeup look which is perfect for the summer. A really good highlighter can be a little pricey but I have been experimenting with drugstore highlighters to narrow down what I think are the best ones to purchase for reasonable prices.

5. MAKEUP REVOLUTION Ultra Sculpt & Contor Kit:
I actually really love this little sculpting kit it comes with a bronzer, highlighter and blusher. But obviously what I really love the most is the highlighter it's a powdered formular but when applied to the skin it doesn't have that super powdery look and is quite pigmented and light reflecting! It is a shimmery champagne kind of shade with a hint of gold. It works well with most skin tones I really wish Makeup Revolution would sell this highlighter on its own! The price is super adorable at just £4. For the affordable price it was ranged at I didn't really expect it to perform as well if I'm  honest but I was pleasantly suprised.

4. MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Liquid Glow:
I thought I would include a liquid highlighter in my top 5 as I know powdered highlighters may not be everybody's preference plus I was curious to see what the difference was between the two. Out of the 3 liquid highlighters I have been trying out this one makes my top 5 list! It's formular is very creamy and easy to blend. I did find that dabbing the product in with my fingers or a beauty blender works best. The Undress Your Skin Highlighter is available in three shades, I purchased the shade champagne. I love this shade as it works well with my foundation shade and doesn't have a muddy or cakey finish which is something I was worrying over as I imagined adding another liquid formular over a layer of foundation may have negative results however, I was proven wrong. I noticed it's light reflecting properties while under natural lighting.
Overal the MUA Undress Your Skin highlighter provides a pigmented yet natural glow and is a great component to add for those wanting to achieve a dewy makeup finish. Great quality highlighter for a super affordable price around £3-£4!!

3. MAKEUP REVOLUTION Goddess Of Love Baked Highlighter:

First and foremost can we take the time to appreciate this cute packaging!!! It's actually the reason I bought the highlighter to begin with lol! But as it turns out the packaging wasn't the only thing I fell in love with, when I first swatched the highlighter I noticed straight away how pigmented it was it completely took me by surprise! It is also such a gorgeous shade that will work with most skin colors! It is a powdered highlighter but doesn't have a harsh powdery finish. A little goes a long way with this highlighter, I didn't need to add layers and layers of product to get my desired highlight! It pretty much did its job after a small amount was applied, I would recommend this highlighter for those who are really into the strobing trend. And for £5 I think you definitely get a good deal! The Goddess Of Love Baked Highlighter is my favorite MAKEUP REVOLUTION product by far!

2. Sleek Face Contor Kit:
This is my everyday go to highlighter and deservingly is my number two on the list! I do like the bronzer but I rarely use it I only buy this kit for the highlighter! I really wish Sleek would sell the highlighter on its own. This is a great quality product that requires little amount of usage for each application! I had it for about a year until I hit the pan! It's super pigmented and adds a gorgeous highlighted glow that lasts all day! I didn't need to re touch the highlighter at all! On top of that it looks quite powdery on a brush but once applied to the face it has such a lightweight and flawless finish with and instant shimmer! It comes with a mirror which is always handy if you are doing your makeup or retouching while out and about. For just £6.50 I think it is way underpriced! It suits every skin shade and looks beautiful under natural light and artificial light. You can add more product on top for a more dramatic highlight or dramatic strobing and yet it still doesn't look too cakey nor does it have a muddy effect the Sleek Highlighter sits gracefully on top of foundation and pressed powders.

1. Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Pallet:
Yes this is my number one and most recommended highlighter!!!
Well it's a pallet of highlighters not just one highlighter which is even better! The highlighters are a creamy, velvet formular that can also be mixed to create your custom shade. I have never seen a drugstore product that looked so beautiful especially under lighting. The creamy textured highlighters are easy to apply and sit flawlessly on top of foundation and create a metallic like shimmer that instantly enhances your face to give a raidient and fresh glow. Perfect for anyone who wants a dewy, luminous finish! There does contain one powdered highlighter in the pallet that performs so gracefully just like the Sleek Face Contor Kit's Highlighter. I think Sleek have nailed it on the head when concerning highlighters! I am absolutely in love with it, when I opened the pallet it's was so pretty I didn't want to use it lol
In addition it lasts all day and performs well under hot and humid weather!
Great product for only £10!

So that is my top 5 best drugstore highlighters! I hope this post is useful for any of you who wish to try out a new highlighter or are trying out highlighting for the first time! All products listed are easy to find in most drugstores and are affordable!

Effortless Everyday Glowy Makeup Look

Want this effortless look for everyday wear this summer? Then keep reading!

During the summer it can be difficult when wearing makeup due to the heat and humidity. So far during this summer I have been wearing this easy, quick and glowy bronzy look. It takes roughly 10 minutes to complete this look which is perfect for us girls that are always on the move!

Priming:

To make my makeup last as long as possibly I used the Loreal Lumi Magique primer. This primer I love because it creates a pore less and metallic like base which is perfect for those looking to atchieve a dewy/glowy finish. I evenly spread a small amount all over my face concentrating around my eyes and cheekbones as these are the areas I want to be extra highlighted!

BB Cream:

For really humid hot weather, a foundation may feel too heavy so I opted using one and decided a BB cream would be a better option!
I have been really loving the Dream Pure BB Cream by Mabelline. There are two types of this product available I use the one with salicylic acid as I am prone to acne. It is SPF 15 which is a decent amount of protection against harmful rays from the sun. It's very lightweight but gives a decent amount of coverage. I apply the BB cream with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, once I have evenly applied the product I once again put a little more on any visible imperfections and gently dab the product on with the pointed side of the sponge.  I really love the even dewy finish this BB cream creates and it lasts throughout the day. But with the primer underneath it should last a little longer and survive the humid weather.

If BB creams are not your thing or you don't own any then you can use some of the following foundations:

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Loreal Lumi Foundation
Rimmel London Match Perfect Foundation

All 3 provide good coverage but are also lightweight like the BB Cream and do provide a dewy finish!

Concealing:

Ahh Concealer mans greatest creation! I mean let's all be honest there is always something we want to try hide on our face whether it is a scar, pimple or just dark circles around our eyes! As the BB cream did a good enough job covering my post acne scars I didn't really need to use a concealer for these problem areas but my eyes needed some much needed attention! Due to lack of sleep lately I had dark circles around my eyes, I used the Match Perfect highlighting concealer by Rimmel London to brighten my eye area which it does wonderfully and gives a natural dewy finish whilst successfully concealing any signs of fatigue around the eyes! My skin has a natural yellow undertone which means I have all foundations that also have yellow undertones but I have a hard time finding a drugstore concealer with a yellow undertone, thankfully this one does have a yellow undertone!! So this would be perfect for those with the same undertone as mine! In addition its consistency is very creamy and easy to blend. I applied the concealer under my eyes in a triangle shape then dabbed the product in using the pointed end of the Real Techniques sponge!

Bronzer/ Contouring:

Now who doesn't love a little contouring? I know I do! The main focus of this look is its bronzy contouring and highlighting. I use the baked bronzer by Makeup Revolution, I really think their bronzer and blushes are great quality considering the amazingly cheap prices! It can almost be considered a dupe for Macs baked bronzer. With my Real Tecniques Contouring Brush I apply the bronzer across the hollows of my cheeks and my hairline around my forehead. When it comes to applying the bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks I tend to apply it in small circular motions while moving the brush backwards towards my ears, this ensures no harsh lines are left visible.

Blusher:
You can choose to opt out of blusher if you want to but I added a little to give my cheeks a flush of color plus this shade is very glowy and extremely pigmented! For the life of me I cannot remember the exact name or number of the shade but the picture above can give you a rough idea of what it looks like. I love Maybelline blushers especially the from the Fit Me range they don't have a muddy or heavy finish, using a blusher that has highlighted pigments in it just like this one I used adds that extra glowy element to the look! It's also a very natural looking shade. Using a fluffy blusher brush i applied the blusher on the apples of my cheeks in circular motions working up towards where my ears are doing this creates a flawless transition between the blusher and bronzer! You want this look to be as flawless and natural as possible so make sure you blend blend and blend!!!!! Eliminate those harsh lines!

Highlighting:

Another crucial step to this look is highlighting!  I absolutely looooove this liquid highlighter by Rimmel London. Such a great formular and texture which adheres instantly! I dab the product on my cheek bones, the centre of my forehead, brow bone which are all the areas of the face that we want to highlight! This creates a healthy and natural glow! The Ready To Glow highlighter is very pigmented and light reflecting and provides a natural dewy finish. If the highlighter does not provide your preferable glow then add another layer of the product or dab a little powdered highlighter on top.

Eyeshadow:

I didn't go too heavy with eyeshadow for this look but I added just a little to give some dimension to my eyes. I used just two shades from the Flawless eyeshadow pallet by Makeup Revolution. I used the shade "Gold Digger" on my crease and buffed it into my outer v to define my eyes. For my lid I applied the shade "Golden Night" using a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush by Superdrug. Using the brush I gently buffed the lid color up towards the crease  to create a flawless transition and eleminating harsh lines!
Both shades I used are located next to each other on the second row of the pallet.

Mascara:

This was the first time I had used the Wonderful Mascara with Argan Oil by Rimmel London and I must say I was very happy with the results. I did apply two coats of the mascara to give my lashes the extra length I desired, at no point did my lashes begin to clump they looked healthy, long and looked natural at the same time even after two applications. I think the Argan oil played a big part in preventing clumpy lashes! Nevertheless this finished off my eye look perfectly and took next to no time to apply!

Lips:

Last but not least! A nude shade for the lips would be highly recommended to maintain that natural look we are aiming for! I loved this nude collection by Kate Moss for Rimmel London! It suprisngly lasted through the whole day and started to wear off in the evening! For this look I used the shade 42 from the collection I feel that this shade would fit with most skin shades and it works well with the colors used for the look. It's finish is very smooth and flawless and doesn't dry out your lips or creat little lumps it also has a slight glossy/sheer finish but it's just enough to add a little more of a dewy natural vibe to the lips which overall finishes this look!

I hope this step by step post can help those interested to try out this look! It's perfect for summer and really doesn't take that long to do, it's great for everyday wear also. The best part is all the products I used were drugstore brands that are affordable which is great for students like myself or anyone who just doesn't want to spend a crazy amount of money on makeup! Thank you for reading and I will be sure to post again soon!

MY CURRENT HAIRCARE ROUTINE!

I have thick frizzy hair and it can be hard to manage at the best of times however, I have switched up my haircare routine and I have been noticing positive results concerning the texture and condition of my hair. I did have my hair trimmed 2 months ago which did help with the dry dead ends but I have been continuing with these haircare steps and routines to prevent damage and maintain the healthy condition of my hair without needing to have it cut as well as enabling me to manage and style my hair better than before.

This is the current length and condition of my hair! (It has been blow dried and slightly straightened in this picture)

I will be listing the products I use, how frequently I use them and how to apply them. The products I will be mentioning are affordable drugstore products.

From time to time I do change the brand of shampoo and conditioner I use on my hair but I have discovered two haircare brands that continuously provide great results on my hair so I try to keep switching between these three.

Hair washing:

Washing your hair is important however, washing every day is unhealthy for your hair as it strips the oils your hair and scalp need to provide moister to the strands of hair, especially the ends.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Color Illuminator Shampoo:

I love the formula that this range has to offer it's my favorite from the Garnier product line. The shampoo really gets the unwanted oils and dirt out of my hair without being harsh and over drying it! I color my hair and using the color illuminator shampoo really helps my color last longer and appear more vibrant. I've used this for a few months and I have to say i have seen a difference! My hair color lasts longer without looking dull after a few washes. Now I can just focus on coloring my roots instead of my whole hair.

Conditioning:

Conditioning is crucial! It's like cleansing your face and not moisturizing afterwards! Shampoos remove the oils from your hair and after sometime it can cause dryness and make the ends feel brittle. Conditioning smoothens the hair and replaces some of the lost moisture.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Nourishing Repairer Conditioner:

I absolutely swear by this conditioner it does exactly what it says on the bottle! It contains European avocado oil and African Shea butter which are great for replenishing dry hair and repairing split ends. As I use heat on my hair regularly there is only so much a heat protector can do, so I use this conditioner to prevent damage and repair any current damage that may have been caused. After shampooing I take a generous amount of the conditioner and work it from the mid section (where my ears are) all the way to the tips. From there I take a comb and comb the product into the hair to ensure each strand is covered. I then leave it set for 5-10 minutes and rinse. Even while rinsing I can feel how weightless and smooth my hair feels it works great at detangling, making it able to run my hands through my hair. This product smells gorgeous also! Once my hair is dry it just feels so moisturized, soft and shiny! I recommend this product for those with frizzy hair it's ingredients are tailor made for frizz!

Weekly treatments:

Haircare treatments such as hair masks and hot oil treatments give your hair extra pampering whilst maintaining or improving its healthiness. I use two treatment methods, the first one I apply twice a week. The second form of treatment I use either once a week or once a fortnight depending on the condition of my hair and if it's been styled a lot.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Sleek Restorer Instesive:

Yes another product from Garnier but I love their Ultimate Blends range so much it's formulars just working amazingly on my hair. The intensive sleek restorer is great for those with frizzy hair like mine or anyone with dry ends due to damage. It contains coconut oil and coconut butter which work wonderfully when replenishing and nourishing hair! It's natural ingredients are tailor made for frizzy hair. How I use this product is quite simple after conditioning my hair I apply the Instesive treatment from the mid section all the way to the very tips, I run either a comb or my fingers through my hair to ensure each strand is saturated. It says to leave on for 1 minute but I leave it in for two then I rinse it off. While rinsing I can already feel how super sleek and soft my hair feels I also find that it detangles my hair too. When I use this treatment I am guaranteed 3-4 days of super sleek hair even through harsh British weather. I just love this product and it works!

VO5 Give Me Moisture Hot Oil Treatment:

I used to go the my local hairdressers for my hot oil treatments but I'm a student on a budget so I took the DIY route. I decided to try the VO5 hot oil treatment as I do color my hair monthly (my roots) as well as use a lot of heat styling appliances, all this can take a toll on your hair as I said previously heat protecting sprays only do so much. I use this treatment mostly twice a week after washing my hair and it definitely works I noticed it repaired my hair after I had the ombré faze last year! My hair is immediately moisturized and de frizzed! I did also notice that it did give my hair color a slight recharge as well as making my hair super shiny. It looked healthy and felt healthy and this was after maybe two uses! The oil penetrates deep into each strand to fight and prevent damage my hair feels a lot stronger and doesn't get so easily damaged anymore.

Heat Protection:

Using heat protectors are so crucially important to use when styling your hair! I straighten my hair most of the time, using hair straighteners and curlers can over time cause dryness and damage to the hair due to the heat it radiates.

Schwarzkopf Got 2 B Guardian Angel Heat Protector:

This is the current heat protecting spray I use on my hair before styling. It creates a protective barrier over the hair to prevent heat damage, it's heat protection limit is up to 220 C which is pretty hot for any hair styling appliance so this is pretty much the highest level of protection you can get!  I apply the spray on my hair whilst it's damp. It doesn't have an offensive smell and doesn't have a sticky or thick texture. I must say its one of my favorites it does the job and iv noticed less damage is inflicted onto my hair while using the Guardian Angel spray. In addition it also adds a lovely sleek and shiny look to the hair which is adds a great element to your styled hair!

So that is my current hair care routine and how I achieve healthy hair! All products mentioned can be found in most drugstores and supermarkets.

Boots The Chemist Own Brand Skin Care: REVIEW!

A few months back I uploaded a post detailing my skin care routine and reviewing the products that I use. Since then I decided to find slightly cheaper alternatives of certain products from my old routine. One day while shopping for my favorite No7 eye cream (which is only sold at boots) I decided to try out some of their skincare ranges such a Botanics and Boots Clear Skin Range.

Botanics Skincare

What I noticed about the Botanics range is that it's all made from natural organic products and doesn't contain any harsh chemicals or fragrances which is great as I have sensitive and acne prone skin. The best part is it isn't tested on animals which is a big deal for me as I am against animal testing and animal cruelty.

The Botanics range has its own little skincare groups such as the All Bright line,Youthful line and the Calming line. I purchased three products from the All Bright line this is because all products from this line contain natural lighting properties extracted from plants which helps with acne scars and dark spots on the skin. The All Bright line's main ingredient is Hibiscus which is a natural brightening property!

Botanics All Bright Purifying Face Scrub:

I love the ingredients that are in this scrub especially the fact that it contains apricot which is great for sweeping away impurities. It also has brightening properties! I dampen my face with warm water and in slow small circular motions I work it into my skin, my face doesn't irritated and the scrub doesn't feel harsh on my skin, as some scrubs can feel as if they are scratching away at your face. The product gently exfoliates the skin removing dead skin cells and fighting impurities without irritating or dehydrating the skin. After washing the scrub off my face felt smooth and fresh. I use this scrub twice a week and I have noticed over a couple of weeks my skin feels smother and looks brighter! Most importantly it helps speed up the process of eliminating small hormonal breakouts that I get from time to time.

Botanics All Bright Purifying Scrub priced £4

Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner:

Iv been using the toner after cleansing and I really love how it smells! Some toners have a burning sensation when applied to my skin as my skin is quite sensitive. Most of the time I would have to use either Olay's toner or The Body Shop's calming aloe toner. Thankfully the All Bright toner doesn't irritate my skin due to its natural ingredients. I add 3 or 4 drops to a cotton pad and gently wipe in upward motions along my face with the pad, my skin instantly feels rehydrated. Some toners take forever to absorb into the skin however, the All Bright Cleansing Toner adheres pretty quickly. As its a Cleansing Toner it not only re balances the skins PHD levels but it subtly cleanses the skin too which is great for ensuring all makeup residue is gone as some cleansers don't always remove everything. From the first use my skin looked brighter and more awakened and my pores where visibly smaller.

Botanics All Bright Hydrating Day Cream:

Now this could possibly be in my top 5 favorite moisturizers! I love the products creamy consistancy and how easily it applys to the skin. I apply the moisturizer after cleansing, exfoliating and toning my face, I apply the product in an upward motion and I don't completely buff it into the skin I allow to sit onto the skin and naturally absorb. Iv been using this moisturizer for a few weeks now and Iv notice some of the post acne scaring on the sides of my face look less apparent and more brighter. My skin is left with a luminous glow and is hydrated all day! It smells great too! However, the only reservation I have about the All Bright Day Moisturizer is its packaging it is in a tub and personally I prefer pump bottles as I find it more hygienic. Other than that I really like this product and it doesn't break me out at all!

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel

I cannot stress enough how important these two ingredients are in treating breakouts and keeping them away! I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Foam Cleanser and it has been my holy grail when curing my acne! I was really excited when I saw Boots had a range that contained both Witch Hazel and Tea Tree I just had to try this line! I bought two products from this line.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Cleanser:

must be honest and say the first week of using this product I experienced small breakouts on my forehead but I think this was due to my skin being so used to my current cleanser it had to go through a period of adjustment with this new one. After a week the breakouts quickly dissapeard and my small hormonal breakouts that occur on my period where becoming less and less and dissapearing at a faster rate! This cleanser smells so good it reminds me of a men's fragrance or after shave. My skin looks and feels fresher after every use! It works efficiently when removing left over makeup that my makeup wipes didn't successfully eliminate and doesn't dry out my skin. You only need two pumps of this product for your whole face, a little goes a long way with this product I use it with my Olay Cleansing face brush.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Peel Off Face Mask:

This just like the cleanser also smells really good! I use this face mask once a week it gives the skin a deep clean, lifiting unwanted oils and dirt out of the skins pores, it's always good for lifting out blackheads although Iv never had issues with blackheads but my brother sometimes gets them on his nose and this mask dramatically removed most of them the first time he applied the product! I leave the mask on for roughly 15 minutes and gently peel off, peeling this mask off doesn't hurt! Although it isn't as good as Lush's Cosmetic Warrior which is my fav! But it does come close and I reccomend this to anyone with mild breakouts who are looking for a cheaper alternative.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Peel Off Face Mask priced at £0.99

I have really been impressed with these products, I have never used Boots's own brand before and I must say I'm glad I tried them out and they have earned themselves a place in my skincare routine! I hope this review has helped those who are looking for new skin care lines to help fight breakouts or assist in the acne scaring healing process
